Join us on Wednesday 15 January for a fun session on the Ice!
What to expect from a Project Active Give it a Go Session
Our 'Give it a Go' sessions are designed to be:
- Beginner friendly (no experience is needed)
- Low commitment
- Inclusive and welcoming
- A great place for making new friends!
- A great way to try something new
Have you been wanting to give figure skating a go? Inspired to try out skating after the Christmas ice rinks? Join Ice Club for a beginner-orientated skating taster in a low pressure and friendly environment!
You can expect some basic warm ups and being taught the skating foundations and elements, including forwards and backwards skating. At the end of the session you'll be confident on the ice and ready to face the next progressions (eg figure elements or ice hockey).
Location: Lee Valley Ice Centre, Lea Bridge Rd, London, E10 7QL
Meet Point: Want to travel with the Ice Club? Look out for our Figure Secretaries, Ines and Karis when you arrive! Meeting at UCL's Main Quad at 12.15-12.30 to travel together to the rink.
Traveling together from Warren Street: Victoria line to Tottenham Hale, then switching to National Rail Services to Lea Bridge. Then walking to the ice centre.
Time: 14:00 - 16:00
Equipment: You're welcome to bring your own skates if you have any but this is in no way expected of you! Lee Valley Ice Centre provides skate hire for £3 (this would be your only expense apart from travel).
What to wear: We'd recommend wearing comfortable layers, leggings or loose trousers, and thick socks. Ice Club will have a changing room at the rink where you can leave your belongings.
Refund Policy: All tickets are non-refundable unless there has been a class cancellation.
If you can no longer attend the run group, please let us know by emailing [email protected] so we can free up your space for someone on the waiting list.
