Raphael Kastner

Hi I’m Raphael and I’m a third year natural scientist student! 

Being involved in stage crew over the last 3 years has been some of my favourite moments at UCL and I am very keen to get involved in a leadership position within the society. 

Having been deeply involved in running a youth movement, I have a number of skills that would be easily transferable as your VP.  I am a good communicator and organiser which would be used in the weekly email blast and in the taking of minutes.  Having worked in a team before, I would be well placed to support the rest of the committee.  

One of my goals as VP would be to support the president and the rest of the committee in the jobs over the year.  I understand how pressuring it can be at times so would try and alleviate the workload of those around me.  I would especially focus on supporting the welfare officer and blooms theatre manager as I know how intense the show weeks can be for all involved.  Having had a lot of experience in the society, I feel that I would be able to do this well.

Additionally, I would like to try and make the training sessions more accessible by doing the sessions at a better time for students and would try and encourage as many members to go to the sound and lighting sessions so they are more confident to take on roles in the productions.
