Hi everyone!
For those who I have not yet met, I'm Martha, a third year Natural Sciences student, and former Treasurer of UCL Salsa Society (2022/23).
This year, I am delighted to be in the position to nominate myself for Salsa Society President 2024/25! I have seen the society evolve and blossom to the wonderful salsa and bachata community we have today, and I would love to play an active role within it once again.
I have first-hand experience in planning and running classes, workshops and one-off events (such as the Boat Party and End-of-Term Ball), as well as representing the society in the Salsa Performance Team. Providing engaging, quality and fun dance / socialising activities - where everyone feels comfortable - is the number one priority. I look forward to organising society trips, socials, performances and more volunteering opportunities to spread the salsa and bachata love! 💃
It goes without saying that collaborations with other societies and universities have been extremely fun and eye-opening. I would certainly continue building connections and collaborating with student-led groups and other organisations (nationally and internationally).
None of this would be possible without the support of a team of lovely committee members. I'm excited for this opportunity to work together with them, to learn, and to lead the society to even greater heights.
My experience, ambition and dedication won't let you down! :)
