Throughout the academic year, I've had the opportunity to interact with many athletes at training and competitions, and I have better understood the challenges UCL athletes face. I also train and compete in several different events which puts me in a unique position that lets me widely appreciate the experiences and needs of people participating in athletics. Because of this, I am well-equipped to help improve the experience of track and field athletes at UCL. As athletics is, for the most part, an individual event, it can be challenging for an athlete to feel part of a team. Although there have been some improvements this year, we still have a long way to go to be a unified team. As a well-known figure among track and field athletes, I am in a great place to help unify the team. Lastly, I already have a good working relationship with Highgate coaches so I can use that to help develop athletics even further.
