I’m Dylan, I’m a second year, and I would love to be your Welfare VP. I have always been passionate about welfare and I believe that fostering compassion is key to everyone’s success. With your vote, I will make RUMS Welfare even more helpful.
I pledge to these goals:
- Get clinical years more involved.
- One way I plan to do this is having welfare week events at the hospital sites.
- Have a more active presence on social media.
- Hold bi-weekly agony aunts so people can talk about things that are bothering them.
- Collaborate with the academic sub-committee.
- Persistent welfare concerns can be brought to the academic sub-committee.
- The academic sub-committee could signal high stress in a year group, which welfare could tackle.
- Have small and frequent events throughout the year to encourage healthy habits.
- Like my meditation sessions this year or coffee mornings and fun runs.
- Strengthen the welfare sub-committee
- Bring in freshers to bring fresh energy and ideas.
- Enhance the visibility of sub-committee members to aid sign-posting.
I have a lot of experience in RUMS, as I have been an academic rep for two years, and I have been a large part of the welfare sub-committee this year.
It would be a huge honour for me to be your welfare VP. I have a lot of great ideas, and am committed to bringing them to life, as well as any ideas you have, to make RUMS a better and happier place to be. I cannot do this without your vote. Thank you!
