Awad Khalid

Hello All,

My name is Awad Khalid and I am a 2nd year student currently studying law. Although I was born and raised in Canada, my mom is originally from Karachi and my dad is from a town named Shujabad, near Multan. 

I’m running to be next year’s Charity Officer as I believe that PakSoc provides an opportunity to make a difference for causes that matter. I’ve always been an out-of-the-box thinker, and would look forward to find new ways to give back if elected. I've also been an eager participant in many PakSoc events this year; you've probably seen me around!

At the same time, I believe that I am the best candidate for this position. I’ve already held numerous positions of responsibility that would allow me to succeed as Charity Officer. In high school, I spent hours running clubs like Model United Nations and working with the student government to host similar initiatives. At university, I spent the last year as a Black, Asian and Middle Eastern (BAME) Ambassador in UCL Law Society. In that capacity, not only did I develop my teamwork and communication skills, but I was tasked with organizing important events for all of the Law Society. The success I’ve found in competitions like debate and mooting demonstrate underline my strong communication skills.
