Sia Patel

I am running for Events Officer because I am passionate about fostering connection and engagement within the Natural Sciences community here at UCL. I believe that organising and coordinating events plays a key role in bringing together members of our society, allowing us to share our experiences and connect with each other. My strong organisational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and creative mindset will enable me to plan exciting events that will contribute to the growth of our vibrant society. As well as this, I have extensive experience planning events and projects, both for charity and for STEM societies in Sixth Form, from charity knitting projects to Pi Day events for the Maths department. I also participated in a long-term project planning STEM, public speaking and art activities for primary school students, which allowed me to improve my adaptability and bring together students from a range of backgrounds. I am eager to utilise the skills I have built to create even more memorable events for our society, further enhancing the sense of belonging within the Natural Sciences community, and a role as Events Officer would be an ideal way to facilitate this.
