I believe I would make a great publicity officer. Over the past two years, I have become familiar with Music Society and its seven ensembles. This year I managed Symphony Chorus and learnt how to manage a large group of people. By collaborating with Symphony Orchestra in concerts, it has enabled me to learn more about the instrumentalist side of Music Society and understand their needs. I will endeavour to have clear communication via social media from before the academic year begins to reach prospective students. I will develop a calendar of events and performances for the year with support from upper committee. This will enable publicity for concerts to start early, through a range of media to raise awareness among as many students and members of the public as possible. I have experience in sales and graphic design from my time at art school. Therefore, advertisements will be informative whilst establishing a specific aesthetic for the society. Last year, I designed the Chamber Choir tour logo and the merch for this Academic Year’s committee and freshers. I would also be interested in finding potential opportunities for ensembles across London in an attempt to establish UCL Music Society beyond the university.
