Embracing cutting-edge research is essential in our evolution into modern healthcare professionals. Leveraging my background in research, academia, and leadership, I am enthusiastic about serving as your next chair to drive our academic community forward.
Key Initiatives:
- Research Opportunities Bank: Partner with RUMS to fulfil a key unmet goal by launching a resource consolidating all research opportunities.
- Mentorship Scheme: Enhance our successful mentorship program by incorporating workshops on academic writing and journal clubs. Develop a resource repository sharing insights into research journeys, making valuable experiences widely accessible.
- Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis Course: Launch the first-of-its-kind systematic reviews and meta-analysis course, equipping students with key skills currently beyond our curriculum.
- Interdisciplinary Lecture Series: Collaborate with science societies to introduce a lecture series highlighting the variety of research at UCL, focusing on bridging theory with research methods/practices across disciplines.
Experience:
- Awarded PhD from UCL Queen Square during medical school with experience in 15+ research projects.
- As part of RAM committee, delivered inaugural neuroscience talk and workshops on academic writing and abstract skills, alongside being a research mentor.
- Faculty (FMS) and Academic Rep (RUMS), along with leadership roles in UCL Neurosurgery Society and National Medical Research Association, among others.
