Acting as the current first year representative of Legal Tech Society, I recognise the vast and intricate landscape of online legal resources. As your proposed Welfare Officer, I aim to simplify this complexity and help those within our society navigate the avaliable legal tech opportunities. Legal tech is interdisciplinary. t's not only vital for law students, facilitating tasks through Legal Process Automation and Blockchain, but also beneficial for STEM students, as Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence revolutionise various industries. Therefore, it is important that the welfare interests of all bodies are addressed within the society, to bridge the gap between law and non-law students in terms of understanding legal concepts, and between tech and non-tech students, when it comes to understanding new and upcoming data processing technologies.

This year, the society has provided greater networking opportunities with firms like Allen & Overy, providing a one-stop shop for legal tech advice. This year, I propose to collaborate with online platforms such as WestLaw or LexisNexis to conduct training sessions, or to collaborate with the online courses provided by FORAGE. This will greatly improve our welfare because we can address the stresses that come with researching legal cases and articles, as well as getting a better understanding of different types of law firms from an online platform. I aim to let legal tech enhance our pursuit of law.
