Evie Weber

Hi everyone, my name is Evie and I’m running to be Collaborations Officer for the knitting society!! Like many others, I picked up knitting during lockdown a few years ago and fell very fast down the rabbit hole of this wonderful hobby.

KnitSoc has made me feel so welcome as a crafter, so I’d love to give back by taking on an active role in the Committee. Being a Collaborations Officer would be a great opportunity to meet fellow yarn lovers as well as to introduce so many more people to the joys of knitting and crochet! I’ve got a few societies in mind that KnitSoc could collaborate with such as the Arts Society, Coffee Society and Baking Society, to name a few. I also think it would be a great idea to invite Film Society members to our film screenings - this way we can be sure that at least some people will pay attention to the film whilst we count our stitches ;)

As Collaborations Officer, I would particularly look forward to coordinating with the Charity Officer, as I think it is really important to use our craft for good. UCL has so many brilliant volunteering organisations with which KnitSoc could work alongside.
