Katie Kavanagh

Hey everyone, I am Katie, a second year NatSci student running for Copy Editor. As web editor and a writer this year for Kinesis, I have experienced writing new articles and sharing relevant and scientifically accurate information to help inform people across several disciplines.

While editing and writing I have loved working with people with such a range of talents from writing to artwork, which I think is what makes Kinesis so special. I have always communicated, left comments and supported peers through the editing period, supporting our talented writers who make great work.

Something I would like to do in this role is to provide more in-person drop in sessions, calling them the “News Room”, allowing all of our members to develop and share ideas for online and print Articles. I think this would help encourage new writers and further the community feel.

Having spent the past year in Kinesis, I have enjoyed being part of the society and would love to be your next Copy Editor and continue the great work the society does.
