Hi! I'm Haruhi- first year student, Japanese, and have been living in Bristol since 13:)
I want to run for Secretary and Welfare officer, as I would like to contribute to multiple elements of the society, from language lessons to socials, to improve the experience of all members. I enjoyed being a part of the society and the sub-committees this year, and would like to get more involved to make the society a comfort place:)
Why me
- Sub-committee experience
- Knowledge on how the society events run gained by contributing to committee meetings and helping out during various social, cultural, and career events
- Level 4 teacher
- Allowed me to have both Japanese/ non-Japanese members’ alongside teacher/student perspectives of the society
- Communication skills with the students and teachers
Goals and how I aim to achieve them
- Making the society more interactive between members
- More social events that reflect Japanese culture e.g. Japanese festivals (お祭り) , new years traditions
- More interactive language lessons between learners and teachers, e.g. group activities during lessons, asking advanced learners to assist beginners
- Appealing events
- Helping events in person, to actively engage with members and get the live reactions
- Have regular polls for feedbacks
- Efficient committee meetings to improve the society
- Reflecting on the feedbacks from members
- Assisting the president to in organising meetings
