Hi, I'm Gresa! My motivation for running stems from a passion for fostering inclusivity, collaboration, and unique event planning within our society. Here are the main contributions I promise to make as Director:
- Event formatting: I will explore innovative event formats that promote active engagement. In addition to panel discussions and guest speakers, I will introduce interactive events such as crisis games or model UN, alongside debates and research opportunities to increase participation, expand your network, and meet new people!
- Democratic Processes: I will strive to create a more democratic and participatory process where members have a voice in shaping the direction of our events. From brainstorming sessions to voting on event themes, your input will be instrumental in crafting a program that resonates with the interests and aspirations of our diverse membership base.
- Multicultural Representation: Building on the efforts of the previous director, I will further amplify representation in our event programming. Rather than adhering to Euro-centric narratives, I'm committed to events that reflect the diversity of our members. Whether it's exploring the geopolitics of the Global South or examining the intersectionality of gender, race, and class in global politics, I envision events that celebrate the richness of UCL.
