I would like to nominate myself as UCL Human Rights events officer for several reasons.

Firstly, this interest widely stems from my current study at UCL. As a current student studying Politics and International Relations, my studies orient facets of public affairs, including institutional democracy and the root causes of human rights violations. I aim to leverage this academic foundation and transition into a hands-on role where I can actively contribute to advancing human rights causes.

During my time in high school, I initiated the establishment of a non-profit organization named Project Meraki. This initiative was born out of my passion for organizing events centered around human rights issues. Our primary objective was to collaborate with local orphanages, focusing on teaching English to young Vietnamese students. Through this experience, I honed my skills in event planning, coordinating logistics, managing budgets, and liasing with speakers and attendees. This background has equipped me with the necessary expertise to effectively organize and execute impactful human rights events at UCL.

Overall, my academic background and practical experience demonstrate my readiness and capability to serve as the UCL Human Rights Events Officer. I am committed to leveraging my skills and passion to contribute positively to the community.
