Manon Ring

Hi everyone! Having been VP for this year, I’m thrilled to be running for President ! I’m a second-year Politics & Sociology student at SSEES and I’m deeply fascinated by the ever-evolving landscape of politics and the impact of governmental policies worldwide, hence my motivation to actively take part in this society! If appointed President, my priorities will be: 

• Diverse discussions: Develop a safe platform for political discussion that is politically neutral, non-aligned, and non-region-centric  
• Inclusive community: welcome students from all backgrounds, listen and respond to the needs of the society, foster internationalism and inclusivity
• Collaborative Events: Collaborate with other UCL societies to host joint events, encouraging interdisciplinary understanding of politics.

Thanks to previous internships and extracurriculars, I have developed a strong set of abilities necessary for this role: I own solid administrative and communication skills, and doing ballet at a National level developed my pragmatism and meticulousness. Allying this practice with IB training provided me with a solid work capacity while actively participating in numerous international MUNs developed my problem-solving and leadership skills. 

Wishing to push the society in the right direction and continue the amazing work done by the current committee, I would be very eager to take on the role of President. I look forward to bringing my passion and expertise to this exciting role!
