Hey everyone! I'm Gabby, a second year Arts and Sciences student and I am running to be your Vice President for the upcoming year!
I've been playing golf ever since I was young and having been a part of the Golf Club for the past two years, I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the various activities and events such as the weekly range sessions, scrambles as well as the potluck that we had this year. It was really great meeting new people who share the same passion and love for this sport and I hope to have the opportunity to continue organising such events to foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for members.
With my experience as Welfare Secretary this year, I understand how the club operates and will be able to draw upon this to improve and make the club an even better one in the upcoming year. As someone who is rather quiet, I understand the struggles some people may go through with making friends within the club, especially if it's a new environment and sport. On top of the usual range sessions, I plan to organise more socials and activities for members to interact with one another, such as more potluck dinners or mini golf, I envision a more bonded golf club. Whether you're a new or returning member, a beginner or a scratch player, there will be something for everyone!
