heyy guys, for those who don’t know me im lorenzo and am eager to join the filsoc committee as events officer :) i grew up not really knowing any other filipinos beyond my family so joining filsoc in uni has been a very unique and welcoming experience for me and i would love to contribute more to this society.

ill be the first to admit that im pretty whitewashed but id like to think that in that sense im doubly eager to discover my pinoy roots. for this reason, more cultural events like the parol making last year particularly interest me. so beyond the usual games nights and clubbing shenanigans weve come to expect, some other ideas id like to explore are:

- learning unique fili-arts like tinikling and arnis
- joint cooking classes for fili-recipes
- informal outings to fili-food spots in london

furthermore, having worked as both the coordinator of service clubs and as the president of the student council in highschool, i have had to organize school-wide events that hinged on my ability to effectively coordinate with, communicate to, and capture the attention of the student body (e.g. a halloween week, spirit week, and prom). these experiences as leader and liaison bring me confidence in my ability to fulfill this position.

i want to finish by saying that i take my events seriously, (not to brag but i won the attendance award at our end of year boat party last year) and i intend to take this role seriously too, so please vote for me im begging you
