Hi! I’m Sara and I am a first-year Politics, Sociology and East European Studies student. I joined European Horizons in October, when I participated in the Policy Workshop Series, where I got became more familiar with European Horizons and was introduced to the process of writing policy memos. Throughout the year I have also had the chance to attend multiple society socials and get to know both the committee and society members. Before coming to UCL I had lived and studied in Hungary, which has motivated me to advocate for the European Union and its values and thus to become more involved in European Horizons.

Though not at UCL, I have experience planning and organising events which I believe would be valuable in this role. Last year I had a leading role in both the international club and MUN at my school as Co-president and Vice-president, therefore my role involved organizing larger-scale events, reaching out to all parties involved and navigating the logistics of event registration and funding. This experience has allowed me to become comfortable reaching out to and coordinating with multiple parties in a way that is transparent and facilitates collaboration.

As Head of Partnerships, I will work to build on this year’s collaborations, such as the society’s visit to Europe House with European Society, Diplomacy Society and UCLUNA, and the Crisis Simulation with UCLUNA, to continue organising similar events.
