As a dedicated law student at UCL, my passion for green technology, environmental law, and sustainability has driven me to actively engage in initiatives that align with these values. It is with this fervour that I am eager to run for the position of Treasurer in the Environmental Law and Life Sciences Society.
My commitment to financial stewardship and strategic planning is exemplified by my role as the Head of Finance for Project Ancora, a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of stray dogs in Singapore. In this position, I successfully secured sponsorships, collaborated closely with budgeting and accounting processes, and managed the pricing structure for our merchandise. Through these efforts, I prioritized maximizing profits to fund essential care for animals. This experience has not only honed my financial acumen but also instilled in me the importance of fiscal responsibility for a meaningful cause.
Furthermore, my role as the Head of Finance for the Physics Society at UCL underscores my capability to manage financial affairs efficiently. In this capacity, I took charge of the daily operations of the finance team, ensuring the execution of budget governance activities. I played a pivotal role in challenging and supporting the management team to implement strategic cost control and revenue generation initiatives, contributing to the society's financial health and overall success.
