Nameera Chitthiwala

I've always enjoyed all things English Literature related, ever since I was in primary school. When I heard there was a society for people just like me, I knew I had to get involved! I've taken on leadership roles in the past, such as being one of the Arts and Cultural leaders during sixth form, where I organised and promoted events to students of all age groups through power point presentations and colourful posters inviting them to events. I would also, with my peers, go to individual classes in case the bulletin board posters did not communicate our message well enough. I think this experience will translate well into developing a marketing campaign for the society. 

As a home student who commutes on a regular basis, I believe that my appointment to this position will add another level of representation - since commuter students appear to be an underrepresented group at UCL. I aim to understand the members of the society a lot better through running the marketing campaign as Marketing Officer.
