Audrey Lau

Hey! I’m Audrey, I’m currently a first-year English student and first joined Dramasoc at the beginning of term 1.  You may recognise me from Reclamation, Pride, New Writing later this year or the term 1 show, As Terrible As God. I love both acting and directing, because of how much freedom I have to put my creative ideas onstage and the amazing writers, directors, actors and production teams I get to work with at UCL. Since I was Freshers’ Representative on this year’s Committee, I gained a lot of insight into how the Committee works on the inside. Additionally, I’m incredibly organised and I approach any project with enthusiasm and dedication.

As your potential VP next year, here are some things I want to achieve. We have existing ties to other societies like Shakespeare, MT and Stage Crew. However, I feel we could expand to even more societies like Live Music, Dance, Opera or even Make-up Artistry. Aside from UCL societies, I would also like to strengthen our links to other drama societies in other universities, potentially starting an event or showcase. 

Next year, I wish to continue to uphold of the organisation, inclusion and diversity our society is known for. I joke that my life is 60% Dramasoc and 40% degree, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I cannot stress more the love I have for our community, the incredible pieces that come out of our collective imagination and how you guys make me feel so at home.
