Juan Diego Chuquihuara Salas

My name is Juan Diego Chuquihuara Salas, and I am currently a first-year student in Politics and International Relations.

Having been deeply interested in diplomacy from a young age, my passion for the field has only grown stronger through my experiences, notably during my period working at the United Nations in Geneva in 2023. I specifically worked on improving the agenda of the 2024 Global Forum for National Trade Facilitation Committees. My contribution played a supportive role in facilitating the smooth operation of the forum, ensuring that discussions among policymakers and National Trade Facilitation Committees are relevant to the current challenges of international trade. However, this experience at the UN not only improved my organisational skills but also helped me develop a network of diplomats, establishing a close connection with a Chief of Capacity Building for example, that could be mobilised to enrich our society's impact.

I have also been engaged in the Peruvian Embassy's global activities, such as the time I helped organise the national day gathering for the Peruvian community in Bern, for example. Furthermore, my involvement has extended to building close ties with Peruvian diplomats, including the vice consul, consul and embassy officials in London.

My decision to stand as the head of events stems from a sincere desire to utilise my network, organisational skills, and experiences to organise meaningful events for our society.
