I am interested in becoming the Physics Editor of the science magazine because I would like to help and inspire students to express their research interests beyond the scope of their course, as well as read their drafts to further my interest and knowledge in my subject. I recognise that especially in physics, essay writing is less common, so I would like to keep motivating and providing valuable feedback to students that are interested in writing and publishing articles. Having been a transition mentor, I helped 1st-year students integrate smoothly into university life, where I organised weekly in-person sessions with them to discuss topics. I learnt how to deliver content and work independently by creating session plans and interactive tasks for my mentees, improving my public speaking and communication, which I can implement to run writing workshops for members. Additionally, during lab sessions, we often record our experiments, which enhances my writing skills, and analyse results which allows me to evaluate, proofread, and nit-pick proposals so that they are scientifically accurate and ready to be published. I am excited to take on this challenge and am looking forward to working with students and the editorial team to publish intriguing content.
