Alex Saikia

Hi everyone, my name is Alex, I am a 2nd year PhD student and I am really excited to be running to be your chamber choir manager next year. I have thoroughly enjoyed working and performing with chamber choir over the past two years. I have witnessed first-hand the dedication, talent and hardwork that everyone has brought to the table that has enabled us to put on some high quality concerts. It is my hope that we improve upon that and achieve even greater things next year. I've had some wonderful experiences with this choir and endeavour to create that for others as well.

My personal experience includes managing choirs at my previous university during my undergraduate studies and almost 20 years of ensemble singing. I will bring this knowledge and experience forward to help us collaboratively set our concert programs and produce high quality concerts that brings joy and wonder to our audiences and ourselves.

I am committed to making chamber choir enjoyable for all involved with a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone is valued, respected and supported. I will always make time to listen to your ideas, concerns and feedback and incorporate them into the chamber choir experience. I understand the demands of academic life and will do everything in my power to accommodate everyone's needs to ensure the choir is accessible as possible.
