I thoroughly enjoy organizing events and have some experience in that aspect, but I haven’t had have many opportunities to organise live music events with other musicians before attending UCL. I’ve really enjoyed the Live Music Society events so far, and also have a few ideas that could be implemented.

Firstly, it would be nice to organize more events similar to extravabandza along the year, in order to allow musicians that aren’t in a band (especially first years) to perform more often, and also allow different members of thelive music society to gain experience as MDs (musical director).

Secondly, similarly to the build-a-band jams,  it could be useful to organize auditions for musicians that want to join a band, allowing band members or managers to recruit them (online or in person).

Finally, it would be nice to organize more classes or workshops for different instruments or genres, where more experiences musicians could sign up to teach techniques or theory to members that want to get more familiar with a certain type of music (ex: classical pianists that want to learn jazz piano/ acoustic guitarists that want to learn electric). This could also involve classes for audio engineering or general use of tech for live music.

Overall, I would like for everyone joining the live music society to be able to participate in events and have fun, while also having the opportunity to learn (or teach) new things! I hope that you like my ideas and will vote for me! :)
