Chiharu Mou

Hi, I’m Chiharu, a first-year student. I am Chinese and I have lived in Japan for 14 years.

I am running for Events Director because Japan society’s events enriched my life experiences. Social events helped me feel involved and connected interacting with Japanese and non-Japanese people. Also, I had a better understanding of Japanese culture by celebrating Japanese festivals in cultural events. Furthermore, Career events open up my opportunities for future jobs. For these reasons, I am motivated to provide similar but more profound experiences to members next year.

Goals:

• Encourage people to meet new friends by obtaining socializing time after the events.
• Enlarge the scale of the events by collaborating with different societies/unis/organizations, and increase the capacity per event.
• Boost vertical communication between committees and members by collecting feedback.

Skills:

• Commitment: As a sub-committee member, I attended the meetings and events to organize and help out.
• Leadership, Organizing skills: I have organized an online event with an NGO on international aid. There were more than 100 participants.
• Communication skills: As a level 2 teacher, I facilitate communication with students. I also have experience communicating with external organizations.
