Hi everyone, my name is Gwen! I have been a member of UCL Indosoc for the past year and have truly enjoyed all the experiences offered by the current committee. This is a reason why I hope to be a part of next year’s committee by standing for the role of welfare officer. In addition to this, I am passionate for and would like to ensure the collective and individual well-being of everyone within our society.

In terms of my qualifications for this role, I have had extensive mental health training in my previous capacity as a member of Palang Merah Remaja (PMR / Youth Red Cross) in high school. If elected, I would be very honoured to share my knowledge with all of you.

Furthermore, within the role of welfare officer, even though this may sound cliché, I promise to lend a hearing ear to anyone who needs it and arrange fun events together with the rest of the committee for all of us to enjoy and unwind together. We all know that being an international student studying at UCL is not easy, and, as welfare officer, I would like to help you maintain and even improve your mental well-being while still sustaining the excellent grades that got you here ?.

As a closing note, I am always willing to communicate with and provide help to others. Hence, given the chance, I hope the role of welfare officer will allow me to connect with and aid more people.

Thank you for reading my introduction and I look forward to working with all of you in the coming year as your welfare officer.
