Hi! I'm Georgie and I'm a first year history student. GenFem has been my absolute favourite society of this year, and as a regular to GenFem events I can safely say I have loved every single one of them and am always excited for the next:)

I would love to be a part of the committee next year and get involved in making all these events possible, all the while contributing to the highly important conversations that are had within them. Having done intern work in Costa Rica for the NGO 'GVI' in community development and women's education, I've been able to see first-hand the vital impact NGO’s and charities can have in providing people with the resources and opportunities needed to overcome the barriers currently posed to global gender equality. For this reason, it’s important that alongside the conversations we have within GenFem, that we continue work with and raise funds for these organisations to achieve the causes we discuss at length at a university level, so that they can be enacted on a wider scale. As your activism and fundraising officer, I will work to improve gender equality both within the university as well as on a global level, through GenFem’s wonderful events on campus, and through collaboration with the many amazing charities that currently work towards improving the experiences of marginalised genders and communities.

Activism and fundraising officer not, I can't wait for another year of GenFem come September. Let the conversations continue!
