Having joined European Horizons in September and joined the committee in January, I am passionate about the society and would love to take more responsibility as Secretary next year. Before UCL I studied in Poitiers, France, where I appreciated how the EU affects European citizens’ daily lives in ways that people often don’t recognise. I wanted to promote the EU and raise awareness about it, which led me to join the Poitiers branch of Jeunes Europeens, an experience I thoroughly enjoyed.

Wanting to continue promoting the EU and European policy, joining the UCL chapter of EuH happened almost naturally. I have thoroughly enjoyed writing policy memos, attending conferences and chatting with other members at socials, and would hope to keep many of these elements as part of the society’s plans next year. I would also hope to expand EuH by organising more regular events or workshops throughout the term, try to collaborate with other societies and EuH chapters, and organise speaker events. As Secretary, I would help with the the society’s organisation while working with committee members and listening to all people’s views and ideas for how European Horizons can improve.
