Dear members of UCL Tharsos,

As an analyst in the Commodities Team of Tharsos, I know how much potential the idea of a society to provide news from various economic sectors has. It’s an amazing opportunity for the analysts and sector heads to gain skills and experience. However, newsletters of Tharsos have become rare, no events are hosted by our society. The Tharsos Group has fallen asleep – a sleeping giant. Yet, a giant with a ton of potential. As president, I want to help our society to wake up and unleash its full potential as follows:

Firstly, the newsletter has to be published more regularly again. I will personally ensure that newsletters are published biweekly and also that, during the summer holidays, the newsletters will continue. Once we have accomplished that, more sectors and topics will be included, for instance M&A transactions or IPOs. To ensure the quality of our reports and the well-being of our analysts, I also want to make the onboarding of new analysts easier: Every analyst should get access to a bundle of information on how to write reports and how to work with the MS Office programs most effectively. To pass the experience from the sector heads to the analysts in the best way possible, in-person meetings have to become the standard again. Additionally, we will start hosting events with alumni from our university and other high-profile speakers from a variety of backgrounds.
