I love being a part of the sign language society and participating in the weekly BSL lessons. I want to contribute to the community that has brought me so much joy.

My reason for seeking the vice president role of the society is twofold. First, I hope to encourage conversations around sign languages. As a member of the society for the previous months, I have reflected upon the fundamental linguistic compositions of languages and how sign languages communicate information differently compared to verbal languages. I hope to continue exploring these intriguing topics and share insights gained with more individuals with the same curiosities. Second, I aim to raise public awareness of such an extraordinary category of language and the underrepresented population relying on sign languages for communication. By investigating into and learning about sign languages, we, as university students, could take initiatives into breaking through the language barriers and raising the accessibility of opportunities for those using sign languages.

I am confident that I could be qualified for this position given my previous experiences in team management as the department head of the student union throughout secondary school. My personality of willing to help and communicate with people would facilitate my work as the vice president. With passion, ability, and aspiration, I believe that we could bring our sign language society to a higher level.
