For the past years, SSEESSoc has been the best part of being a SSEES student for me and, by running for President, I want to keep sharing that with students of the department!

Being on the committee as FYR in my first year and as a VP now, I have learnt all the dos and don'ts of running SSEESSoc, as I have been involved in all aspects of the society, whether it is volunteering related, academic, or social. Next year, I want to continue delivering events and providing the community-feel the society is known for!

I am planning to keep the balance between the areas SSEESSoc covers:

On the academic side, I vouch to bring even more frequent embassy visits, to host more speaker panels, and to cover even more of the SSEES region countries through events. By frequent collaboration with other societies, I will also bring more types of events such as SSEES moot courts or policy workshops.

On the social side, I will ensure to host more karaoke nights and party nights in general, keeping the vodka taster going (info coming soon on this year's edition btw!), bringing back the SSEES ball and having more stress-relief events!

Lastly, in terms of our relationship with SSEES, I will ensure students have a stronger voice in the department, having concerns and feedback be shared effectively and quickly with SSEES staff and that students are always at the centre of decision making!
