Celebrating Punjabi culture is extremely important to me! Hence, I would love to be on the committee next year to ensure the legacy is kept alive and that the society continues to grow.

The role of Welfare Officer stood out to me as it relates well to my personality and skillset; I enjoy taking care of others and solving issues. I feel confident that I would work well with others on the committee and help to provide harmony as I have a lot of previous experience in this. During my role as Head Girl, I managed a team of 15 and in stressful situations, there were often disagreements. I ensured I acted as a person to talk to when others felt anxious and frustrated. I would use these skills to ensure both committee and members stay smiling :).

Studying Medicine also enables me to have some extra experience! Completing a First Response course and clinical skills means that I have good knowledge on how to respond if an emergency were to arise at an event. I really do want to see all of our members have fun and make unforgettable memories whilst staying safe!

My aims for this role are to be a friendly face to members, put in place a welfare system for events, and ensure the committee is running smoothly. I would like to run some welfare events too which focus on relaxation, combatting stress, and managing university life. Lastly, I would support the ideas of the other committee members to assist in expanding this wonderful society that represents our culture and community!
