Having been involved with multiple larger societies in my first year such as Hindu society and Indian Society, I feel a responsibility as a punjabi to try my best to grow the punjabi society at UCL so that it might be as well established in a few years time. The punjabi culture and way of life is such a beautiful thing, and I feel that many people would enjoy experiencing it, regardless of their race, religion or ethnic background. I think that the key to growing the society and hosting successful events hinges primarily on the people attending them. For that reason, I believe that innovative sales strategies will be paramount to raising awareness about the events we are hosting and getting as many people involved as possible. I have some previous experience being in a position of leadership in my Sixth Form house which makes me a good fit for the role. Making the members of the society feel like they're part of a big desi family is something I will strive to achieve in this position.
