Anmol Singh

Hey I’m Anmol! I’m a first year Data Science student. Punjab is the land of warriors, philosophers and musicians who have left indestructible cultural marks and have given the world a distinguished Punjabi language, culture, food, attire, dance, and folklore and it feels like this isn’t more present in the UCL atmosphere. I believe my passion and dedication towards this society will help me to fulfil the demands and responsibilities of being president as well as aiming to unite students who have a common interest for the culture regardless from a Punjabi background or not.

Punjabi culture is already a huge part of who I am. From knowing many Punjabi songs and movies to always craving an aloo paratha I am proud and extremely passionate about sharing our culture with as many people as possible. One of my favourite things about our culture is that we know how to party and as president I hope to introduce even more club nights and events (one could be a fresher’s welcome dinner). Further things I would introduce are bhangra classes to get people a taste of the traditional Punjabi folk dance as well as Punjabi lessons. As President, I will try to establish a samosa and chai night every term. I will also introduce kabaddi taster sessions which is an exhilarating but fun sport.

I believe that I can be responsible for leading Punjabi Society, and provide a friendly and supportive community because of our selflessness.
