Diane J Ambrosi

Hi! My name is Diane, I’m 18 and a 1st year undergrad student. I started pole in October and let’s be completely honest, the studio has a grip on me now… Oops? Which is one of the reasons I’m running for committee in the first place, I get a lot from the society so it’s time to give back some! I spend ages in the studio already – watch me show up at every open practice there is –, so I might as well be there for a reason, and actually be useful instead of just sitting there haha.

I’m running for secretary specifically because the role’s missions are to take notes in committee meetings, send out the newsletters to the members, and overall ensure good communication, and that’s something I’ve always liked doing! Also, I’m in an essay-writing course (History and Politics are really coming for my writing skills) and have been a writer in the youth association I’ve been part of since its creation, so for the last two years (ish, our anniversary is July 3rd, but that’s a detail). So really, writing newsletters won’t be much of a change to my routine in all honesty. The secretary might also be the one to handle social media, and I’m already spending way too much time on my phone, so actually having something to do during that time is more than welcome.

To summarize: vote for me, I’m nice and I’ll do my very best ;)

I've been doing pole for about 2 years now and I've really enjoyed contributing to this society as part of this year's committee and would love to continue doing so in the next year.

I'm running for secretary because I'm organised to a fault (I really like making spreadsheets) and I'll make sure you'll be kept up to date with all of our activities, so our pole community can keep growing.

Thank you for reading!

Natasha Merricks

I joined pole last October, and I have grown to love it. The community feel and friendliness of everyone I have met at pole, particularly the current committee, has inspired me to run to be on the committee next year, where I will help to maintain the nature of this welcoming and inclusive society. I would love to become more involved in the society next year and continue to help it to grow, as well as helping to create more opportunities for the members both in and out of the studio. As secretary I would help to ensure that the running of the society goes smoothly, and my main focus would be ensuring communication between the committee and the members is as open and thorough as possible, so that everyone feels included and equal in having access to activities and decisions that take place.
