As an exhibition officer, I would achieve 3 key goals.
Firstly, I would communicate with members of the society to discover the themes they would want to explore with their photography.
Second, I would encourage collaboration between artists and work with them to curate our exhibitions. I would propose a calendar at the beginning of terms 1 and 2 to work towards the season's exhibition, while supporting anyone who wants to submit until the last minute.
Finally, I would support those submitting their work and signpost them to resources to help them in their creative process.
I would apply the skills I learned from creating photo books to curating the exhibitions. Through my work, I learned to consider how different photos work together and how their relationships emphasise their meaning or enhance their beauty.
As I have experience participating in exhibitions, I know the process a photographer goes through before and during exhibitions. I would be able to support artists in their own process, which I know can be a difficult one.
