Hello all, Finn here! I'm a first-year mechanical engineering student running for the position of president of UCL's parkour club.

Since starting university and joining the club in October, I've experienced first-hand the fantastic community created by this society's members, many of which are also beginners attempting parkour for the first time. Every single person has been nothing but supportive and encouraging towards each other, helping me and every other member to progress rapidly over the last few months. This support has allowed me to learn a variety of vaults, overcome major mental barriers to perform flips on flat ground and improve my upper body strength in pursuit of the ever-elusive climb-up.

Whilst seeing myself progress has definitely motivated me to attend every session and push myself further, the opportunity to watch others learn and progress has also brought great pleasure. From conditioning to kong-pres, and all aspects of parkour in between, I am inspired by regularly seeing individuals overcoming their own challenges and want to actively support every member as they master parkour.

Being in the early stages of my university and parkour journey, I am in a similar position to many of you and hence can relate strongly to your, and future members', needs and concerns. As such, I am committed to the betterment of this society and would greatly value the opportunity to act to support your interests over the next academic year as president.
