Hi everyone!
I'm Urvi and I'm a first-year biochemistry student applying for the treasurer position for the Nepali society. I have enjoyed playing a role in the committee for the last few months and although I have only been treasurer for a short while, I've gained a lot of experience in handling the finances of the society. It was really fun organising the last event and I still have a lot to learn but I believe I am the best fit for this role. I’m a team player, good listener and I won’t run away with your money. Hopefully I can help organise more events and get to know everyone better!
I hope I can continue to be your treasurer, vote for me hai :)
Hello, my name is Saimon. I am currently a 2nd year medical student, going into iBSc Cardiovascular Science next year. I was born in Hong Kong and spent about half of my childhood there. After, I moved to the UK. My Nepal hometown is Pokhara. I am interested in running for Nep Soc Treasurer. My role will involve managing the society’s accounts and paperwork, as well as potential sponsorships and funding. I am running as I would like to promote the Nepalese culture, whilst utilising and developing my skills in managing finances.
I consider my level of organisation and time management to be my strengths, which is why I believe I am fit for this role. Furthermore, this opportunity will allow me to be more closely involved with the inner working of the society, as well as giving myself better reach to all of our members! I might be inexperienced as this will be my first role in any society. However, I am prepared to quickly learn from previous member’s experiences, and will put myself into good use, ensuring that the finances of this society are smoothly managed. I am really looking forward to see how the new year will play out, as I’m familiar that all of us are waiting to get back into the new post-COVID ‘normal’, which is why I can’t wait to become the next Nep Soc Treasurer!
