Music Society: President

Hello everyone, I'm Maria and I'm a 2nd year Earth Sciences student. 

I am super excited to be running as your next Music Society President. I have made so many amazing memories in the past year with Music Soc and as Chamber Choir Manager, and I would love the opportunity to give back to the society. If elected to be your President, I aim to take some of the ensembles in a new and refreshed musical direction. I would also love to work with the ensembles I haven't previously, such as Concert Band, A Cappella, and String Orchestra to provide some unique and exciting performance opportunities as I have done for Chamber Choir. As well as this I'd like to put a greater focus into integrating the ensembles with wider society socials from the start of the year. I'd like to put a greater emphasis on welfare and feedback so that we can run the society with your opinions in mind. 

In my role as Chamber Choir Manager, I organised 7 concerts at venues such as Fitzrovia Chapel and St George's Church, which involved liaising with the committee, ensemble members, the musical director and the venue team. 

Being a part of Music Soc and on the committee this past year has been a pleasure and I've gained great insight into the inner workings of the society. I look forward to working with you all next year and hope to create lots more memories :)
