Dermatology is a speciality that I would to pursue as a career. Skin health is often overlooked within the medical field due to it posing very few life threatening conditions. One may be considered vain or over treating a problem that won’t have an impact on their mortality or morbidity. However, ones skin can be the cause of so many mental health issues- social isolation, depression and dysmorphia to name a few. I am passionate about being a patient advocate when it comes to skin as well as exploring common conditions further. I would love to teach about these conditions and create a safe space where people can discuss about all things mental health due to skin issues.
