I'm here to do a Cincinnatus.
If I am elected, I will use my powers to avert this crisis and make sure the SU doesn't disband this society. Once this is complete, I will immediately step down and return to my farm (the library in this case).
Vote me if want a caretaker figurehead to ensure the status quo that the society is actually part of the SU.
Hi! My name is Dhruv and I'm excited to run for president of quant society.
As president, my main goal would be to increase the number of hackathons available to the society. I'll try to organize weekend-long hackathons and bring in industry sponsors. I've previously done a hackathon for Citadel and I feel like such projects would be a great addition to your CV and to learn!
I'll also try to introduce workshops to teach topics in quantitative finance. I'm thinking we could reteach already established courses such as fast.ai so everyone has a clear direction of what we're doing and can catch up with the available material online. It would be like doing a MOOC with a bunch of friends. We can also try doing Kaggle competitions in the society.
If this sounds interesting then I'd love to represent you as president and try to put this into practice. I'll also try to organize a bunch of socials!
Hi, I'm Aadhavan and I study Maths and Computer Science. I love quantitative finance because it brings together the two subjects I enjoy and is constantly evolving as new research is made. I want to be president so I can make quantitative finance a more approachable topic to those who don't even know what quant means. I also want to create more opportunities for people in first or second year such as research projects, because having such experience early on in your career goes a long way.
I'm well prepared for such a demanding role due to my organisation, having performed consistently well in my degree whilst taking part in many societies. I also love communicating complex ideas in Maths in a simple manner, which is crucial when it comes to explaining concepts in quant finance.
Hello,
I am a maths student just finishing my first year and interested in a career in quant finance. Although I don't have experience in industry, I am passionate and spend much of my free time programming and self-studying. I am willing to devote a lot of effort into organising events as president, especially if it means the society can carry on existing.
Thank you,
Hi, I'm Safwan and currently, I'm the first-year representative for UCL's Quant Society. Through my role, I've been able to help organise most of the big events held by the society including the coding boot camps and coffee evenings. I hope to contribute even more next year, with panel events starring recent graduates working in quants to industry veterans. I also will ensure quant society has another research group or coding boot camp so that members are able to pick up immaculate experience for their CVs.
Excited to start next year!
