Sukhmani Khangura

Hi all! My name’s Sukhmani, and I’m running to be your Vice President of Medical Society next year.

I have been involved with the society since my first year and understand the support and guidance it offers students. Over this past year as a member, I have enjoyed giving tutorials to first and second year students on topics such as embryology and anatomy. The sessions taught me the value of clear communication and active engagement which would greatly aid me in this role.

I have also been project leader for UCL Next Top Doctor during this last year, a volunteering outreach scheme to support disadvantaged students in pursuing medical careers. My role involved a range responsibilities from admin and social media management to volunteer support. The organisational and multitasking demands of this role have given me the necessary skills to ensure the smooth running of a society.

As your vice president, I would focus my efforts upon improving diversity of content and helping to facilitate a wider range of speakers from different disciplines, increasing exposure to a range of specialties early-on. I would also like to boost engagement and create a forum where members can express what tutorials and talks they would most like to see provided by the society, particularly within our conference.

I am confident that I will be able to deliver in this role and look forward to working within the leadership team to continue the amazing work of Medical Society.  Thank you.
