Your Role

You will be a full time Sabbatical Officer of the Students’ Union working full time to provide leadership to the Students’ Union’s services; and representing the interests of students to UCL, including particiapting in UCL committees and regular meetings with senior staff.

 

You will represent students’ academic interests to UCL and beyond. You will lead the Union’s work in influencing UCL to achieve fair, accessible and high quality standards of education at UCL.

 

Your Responsibility

  • Be the lead Officer in representing students’ academic interests to UCL and sit on senior committees including UCL Council
  • Chair the Education Zone, the democratic forum for passing Union Policy related to education
  • Develop and implement the student academic representation strategy
  • Shape and contribute to education campaigns at a national level
  • Represent the voice of students when responding to developments in education at UCL
  • Oversee the academic sections and the election of academic representatives
  • Be a Trustee of the Students’ Union and a member of the Students’ Union Leadership Team
  • Be an active member of the Union Executive

Time Required For Role

This is a full time role over a 12.5 month period, from 1 July 2020 – 15 July 2021

35 hours per week plus a range of additional events

Salary: £25k (approx.)
