Benefits of walking

Getting outside in the winter for a walk or run can offer numerous wellbeing benefits, despite the chilly weather. Here are some advantages:

  • Mood boost: exposure to natural light, even during the shorter days of winter, can boost mood and alleviate symptoms of seasonal affective disorder (SAD).
  • Improved sleep: regular physical activity and exposure to natural light during the day regulates your circadian rhythms, promoting a more restful sleep at night.
  • Stress reduction: taking a stroll in a winter landscape can have a calming effect, reducing anxiety and stress levels and promoting a sense of tranquillity.
  • Social interaction: walking provides an opportunity for social interaction, which is crucial for your wellbeing and creates a shared, positive experience.

Look forward to seeing you there!
