Description

Home has many meanings, from the buildings we live in to a feeling that goes beyond a specific place. The Museum of the Home’s purpose is to reveal and rethink the ways we live, in order to live better together. It is a place to explore and debate what home means.    

 

We’re looking for volunteers to support the delivery of our Home Truth Event: SUM LONDON SS25 Menswear Runway Show on Thursday 5 September. . The event features a catwalk through our rooms through time, as well as a thought-provoking discussion. We’re looking for volunteers to assist with the set-up of this event as well as providing much needed support for the fashion designers with assisting with clothing and make up preparation. No fashion experience or design skills rea required for this role; we’re looking for people that can provide practical support and additional hands for our designers.

Duties

In this role you will: 

  • Provide awarm welcome for visitors 
  • Inform visitors about the activities on offer 
  • Support the set-up of runway operations by acting as a runner. 
  • Support the fashion designers with behind-the-scenes tasks. 
  • Help and excite visitors throughout the event 
  • Set up and take down rooms, tables, and event spaces. 
  • Manage capacity in activity rooms 

Time commitment

You must be available on Thursday 5th September from 4:30 – 10:00

We reimburse travel expenses up to the value of £12.70 per return journey and Lunch expenses up to the value of £5, if undertaking a full day, when receipts are provided.
