Join us for the Term 1 Student Sustainability Forum, where you can hear from representatives from UCL’s COP29 (Climate) and COP16 (Biodiversity) Teams, ask questions, and take part in discussions around the COPs.
The event will be facilitated by Goksu Danaci, your Students' Union UCL President.
Have burning questions about climate and biodiversity action? Want to learn about how the world's top climate and biodiversity conferences work? This event is the perfect platform for you to ask, learn, and make your voice count - the UCL team will take your ideas with them to the COP.

- Prof. Mark Maslin, Professor of Earth System Sciences, and Pro-Vice Provost for the Grand Challenge of the Climate Crisis
- Prof. Priti Parikh, Professor of Infrastructure Engineering and International Development and Director of The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction
- Dr Izzy Bishop, Lecturer (Teaching) in Ecology
- Dr Jonathan Barnes, Research Fellow in climate change adaptation, Department of Risk and Disaster Reduction
- Goksu Danaci, President, Student’s Union UCL.
Our expert academic staff will provide a short introduction to the COPs and how they work, before we break into small-group discussions on more specific topics. We will then feedback to the wider group and reflect on the discussions.
Please note this event is in-person only, to facilitate meaningful discussions between our staff and students. You don't have to know anything about climate, biodiversity, or COPs to take part - it's free and open to all!
