Marie Curie has partnered with Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust to create a Companion service that provides emotional support and companionship for patients with a terminal or life-limiting illness, and their families and carers, in their own home and in hospital.
• Companionship and emotional support – providing a friendly ear and someone to talk to about whatever’s on your mind.
• Practical support – someone to accompany you to appointments, or help with small everyday tasks.
• A break for families and carers – they may be able to take a break for a few hours while our volunteer spends time with you.
• Information on further support – our volunteers can help look into other support and services that are available in your area.
