Description

Exploring Payment Models in Social Care and Mental Health Services.

In an environment of funding cuts to charities, reduced statutory services, and increasing mental health needs, the voluntary sector faces more pressure than ever. We are looking to understand the dynamics of payment for services within the voluntary sector, particularly in social care and mental health.

We are seeking a passionate volunteer to conduct a qualitative and desk – research and to help us answer the following questions:
•    Is there any evidence-based practice on payment models in Social Care and Mental Health Services?
•    How do / should organisations decide who to charge, at what payment scales and how does it work in practice?
•    What are the ethics involved?
•    What might be the impact on clients and the outcomes they can achieve?

Your contributions will help provide a deeper understanding of how payment systems can be ethically and effectively integrated into the voluntary sector. This knowledge will aid organizations in better serving their communities amidst financial constraints.

Duties

•    Conduct a literature review to identify existing evidence-based practices, existing models for deciding payment scales and their practical applications.
•    Conduct interviews with different relevant stakeholders to understand the context of this topic and the potential impacts on outcomes.
•    Understand the ethical considerations of charging for services in the voluntary sector.
